FOCUS QUESTION #1: Why is Germany important to the world and to the United States?

You have been invited to participate in a two-week study trip to Germany. You will visit the economic and political centers of Germany, have the opportunity to ask questions of national and local leaders, and sit in actual classrooms in German secondary schools.

However, you will need to raise money to pay for your expenses while on this trip. Write a letter to a local civic organization persuading them to donate money. In your letter be sure to tell them why it is so important to learn more about Germany.
